A Christian Bale movie that has graced many a bargain bin DVD rack, Equilibrium was an effort by Miramax to capitalize on the popularity of The Matrix with their own dystopian future science fiction action thriller. However, due to its amazing run in Europe, they decided to do the American release as cheaply as possible to ensure they won't lose that profit. With a 20 million dollar budget, it's not the most eye-catching science fiction movie of this decade. But how does it use its resources? And by the way.. just what is the story anyhow?
